Journal

Director:
As director, I enjoyed catsing the members of my film and bringing the production together. I feel that I was organised, considering I had to plan alone, I booked my props in good time and hasd the equipment ready. Roughly spending £15-£20 on props, it was only used on items that were vital for my product, for example, the pregnancy test revealed she was pregnant as there was no dialogue for her to say. One challenging aspect of directing was trying to organise a date for all cast members to film. Furthermore, the fact that I needed to film in various locations made it hard to fit filming into one day, so I had arrange to do this over a period of 2 days. However, following the start of the shoot it was clear that it may go over schedule and that we would not have time, so I had to prioritise the important scenes( their first meet, their public argument) and film in those locations first. The day had ended and I managed to shoot in 3 out of 5 of my planned locations outdoors, only. it was ok as I had a lot of footage that I knew I'd have to fit into 6 minutes. For this reason I told the cast members that it was a wrap for the day. Working with cast members who were co-operative and behaved professionally was very beneficial, and I think I made a wise choice by selecting them.
